48 hour Film Competition

Competition Information:

$85 entry 12 teams - ( Each Team Gets 5 free tickets to the screening/Award Ceremony & Collector Con)
$65 entry student films 12 teams - ( Each Team Gets 4 free tickets to the screening/Award Ceremony & Collector Con)​

Rules and Regulations:
​
Team Composition: Teams must consist of a designated captain, teams can be any size and team members can be of any age. At least one person from each team must be of 19 years or older.
Registration: All participating teams must register in advance and pay required entry fees. Registration Ends April 26th or sooner if all 24 registration spots fill up.
Theme and Elements: You will be given a specific theme, prop or costume, and a word at the start of the competition. These elements must be incorporated into the film in a meaningful way.
Time Limit: Films must be completed within 48 hours from the official start time of the competition. Late submissions will be disqualified. Your Film must be Written, Shot, and edited within the 48 hours.
Equipment and Resources: Teams are responsible for providing their own equipment, including cameras, sound equipment, and editing software. The use of copyrighted material without proper permission is prohibited.
Location Restrictions: Filming locations should adhere to local laws and regulations.
Content Guidelines: Films must adhere to appropriate content guidelines, including avoiding excessive violence, nudity, or offensive language. Films should be suitable for a general audience unless otherwise specified, it is ok to go PG but please be mindful.

Submission Format: Films must be submitted in the specified format and frame size, details will be provided before Competition Start date.

Originality: All elements of the film, including the story, script, and soundtrack, must be original and created during the 48-hour period. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material will result in disqualification.
Credits: Films should include credits acknowledging all team members and any external resources used (e.g., music, props). Proper attribution is essential.
Judging Criteria: Films will be judged based on criteria such as creativity, storytelling, technical execution, use of required elements, and overall entertainment value. Judges' decisions are final.
Film Length: Each Film submitted must be a minimum of 60 seconds and a maximum of 5 minutes including intro and credits.
Screening and Awards: All completed films will be screened at a designated event, where awards will be presented in categories such as Best Film, Best Direction, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Audience Choice.
Rights and Permissions: By participating in the competition, teams grant organizers the right to screen and promote their films. Teams retain ownership of their work but agree to allow the use of their films for promotional purposes related to the competition.
Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout the competition. Any behavior deemed inappropriate or disruptive may result in disqualification.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes or issues arising during the competition will be resolved by the organizing committee, whose decisions are final.
